Parents who have taken their kids to Chuck E. Cheese or any other game-riddled, seizure-inducing play land might appreciate columnist Andrea Rinard’s observations. Rinard finds herself and her kids invited to a birthday at Chuck E. Cheese and, as a way to quell her disgust, she sits back, observes, and critiques the other parents.
While her piece is admittedly biased against dads, it’s still good for a small chuckle.
As (financially, mentally, spiritually) draining as taking kids to such places can be, how many other times can you take small children out to eat and have the luxury of hanging back and making social commentary. There’s something to be said for pizza and whack-a-mole, no?
