Amazing Water with NO Calories!

Okay, so water has no calories, which makes it pretty good for someone who is on a “wedding diet” right now. Unfortunately, I cannot stand drinking plain water; I hate water, with a capital H2O. But the alternatives that have no calories have lots of other problems associated with them. Diet Coke, for instance, is just bad. I don’t have to tell you why. We all know it’s just bad.

So it was lucky for me a few years ago when Glaceau, the makers of Vitamin Water and Smart Water, the water in the sleek bottles with sassy marketing words printed on them, made waters that were flavored with cucumber, melon, citrus, and berries. They had no calories, and while they weren’t juices, they still made water palatable. But I have not seen those in the markets for at least two years now. Glaceau has something called FruitWater, but those have 20 calories a serving, and when an event is ten days away, every calorie counts.

So along comes Hint, a company out of San Francisco that makes all-natural flavored waters with no sugar, no artificial sweeteners, and no calories! Strange that I am getting excited over water having no calories (hey, wait a second, doesn’t water already have zero calories?), but it’s flavored. They are new, and I haven’t seen it in the markets yet, but when I do, I’ll take some of that Cucumber.

I've been hooked on them for a couple of years now, and just read that they opened a huge bottling plant in Arizona to increase output for us west coasters. Five flavors (lime, lemon, mandarin orange, watermelon, and kiwi-strawberry) that I've seen in the stores in So. California keep enough variety involved, and they all taste really fresh and crisp.
