You can have cereal for dinner, so it’s certainly alright to have grilled cheese for breakfast. Don’t worry, it’s French toast stuffed with cream cheese and fruit, of course. But we certainly wouldn’t be offended if we all sat down to American cheese on Wonder white at 8 am! Usually, stuffed french toast is made by cutting a slit in the side of extra-thick slices of bread to create a pocket for the filling. However, that small pocket does not maximize the stuffing-ability, and leaves lopsided french toast that is still too much bread and not enough of the delicious stuffing inside. Instead, take two thick slices of egg or challah bread and pull out pieces of the bread without going all the way through, making fairly large divots on one side of each slice. Fill these divots with the stuffing - softened cream cheese that has been sweetened with some sugar and sliced fruit to help with the guilt. Put the slices of bread together like a sandwich. From there, take the regular French toast route of soaking in milk (or cream) and eggs, fry in butter, garnish if have the patience, then eat.
Yes, yes, technically then, it’s not "stuffed" French toast, but a "sandwiched" French toast. But is it really French anyway? Right, I didn't think so.

I got strawberry/cream cheese french toast there one morning. It was so good it was ridiculous, but I couldn't finish it because it was so rich, and I still couldn't eat anything for the rest of the day.
