Pope Benedict is just like the rest of us, when he goes home he savors the local cuisine. When I go home to Cape Cod, it's lobsters and clams, for Pope Benedict returning to Germany, it's liverwurst and bread. It has been reported that the Pope, who has lived in Rome for 24 years, is looking forward to a few pasta-free days. His host Cologne Cardinal Joachim Meisner reports that his refrigerator is stocked with all sorts of sausages. The Pope, who is from Bavaria didn't want any of the famous Bavarian beer however, he prefers (ugh) Fanta.

I do know that after spending a week enjoying the many Cajun & Creole flavors of Louisiana I had an insane craving for Tex-Mex (being the good lil' Texan that I am).
When I visit my grandparents in Pennsylvania, I have to have cabbage rolls, lebanon bologna, and Yuengling. Mmmm.
